Charles Brown is professor of music and director of choral activities at Concordia University Chicago where he conducts the Kapelle and Männerchor (men’s choir). He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in conducting, choral literature, singer’s diction, vocal techniques, and choral music education.

Specializing in topics of the male changing voice, conducting, and vocal techniques, Charles has presented many workshops at professional conferences with the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the LCMS Institute on Liturgy, Preaching, and Church Music, Lutheran Education Association (LEA), the American Guild of Organists (AGO), the Lutheran Choir of Chicago, and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM). His continued passion for choral music education in churches and schools is demonstrated in the festivals and workshops he currently leads throughout the country.
