Golf Social

The annual golf social and croquet tournament was a huge success in every way. Golfers were treated to a challenging 9 hole course, with a special putting game which required the putters to spin around three times and then immediately putt! Spectators and participants alike were falling down laughing. Croquet players had two courses available to them and a beautiful tent with hors d'oeuvres and drinks for those waiting their turn. When the ninth hole was played and the croquet winners announced, everyone adjourned to the clubhouse for a wonderful dinner reception. There were many winners, but the most important ones were the choristers who received $6,000 into their scholarship fund. A big thank you to everyone who came out to support this event. Season Kickoff

September 17th found parents purchasing concert dress, snacking on Butter Braid pastries, checking out the jewelry for the fall fundraiser and getting reacquainted after a summer off. New families were welcomed and given a little overview of what to expect in the coming year. A few touring choristers performed a delightful skit explaining some of the chorus "rules". The highlight of the evening was of course the choristers, who, just weeks into the new season, performed beautifully and left everyone looking forward to the next big concert. Our 45th season is fully launched, with four levels, encompassing kindergarteners through high school seniors digging into new music and anticipating another season of new experiences and opportunities.September brings Parent Orientation – our first chance to sing for our chorus community – followed by our annual Retreat at Camp Reynoldswood. October will see us rehearsing for Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as well as the beginning of our preparation for Berlioz’ Damnation of Faust with Lyric Opera of Chicago. These are thrilling, memories-for-a-lifetime experiences for our singers.

I’d like to offer a special word of welcome to the singers and families new to us this season. Anima is a nationally recognized organization which has served as a model of excellence for children and youth choirs throughout North America for many years. We take the responsibility seriously, and our entire staff works hard to ensure a great singing and community experience for our choristers. We’re delighted to have our new families with us. Be sure to let us know if there’s anything we can do to further help you have a great chorus experience with us. Welcome aboard!
